Day of Dancer Health

Day of Dancer Health is a day devoted to professional dancer health and wellness.

DRC created Day of Dancer Health in collaboration with Dance/USA’s Task Force on Dancer Health and the Actors Fund to address the lack of health and wellness programming for Los Angeles dance artists. Ninety-eight percent of LA dancers work as freelancers and often lack access to health and wellness resources in addition to employer-based health insurance—both of which are necessary to safeguard and prolong their careers.

Day of Dancer health is open to all professional dancers, aged 18 and above. It is FREE to participants.

  • Receive Dance/USA Task Force on Dancer’s Health’s preventative assessment screening administered by licensed health professionals who have expertise in working with performing artists. Dancers move through a series stations, then receive a one-on-one assessment based the screen results and are provided appropriate local referrals to pursue ongoing medical attention and services.
  • Meet with mental health counselors, nutritionists, and other health and wellness professionals.
  • Participate in workshops, attend information tables and eat healthy food.
  • Each participant receives a parting bag filled with health related items.

SAVE THE DATE: November 3rd, 2018
